Allocation Module

Module 3: Allocation

This module is related to the allocation of the jobs created. The jobs created are allocated to drivers. Every driver has vehicle allocated to them. Drivers and vehicles are created through the driver system level module and vehicle system level module as discussed in section 2. A simple flow diagram has been provided below to explain the flow of job creation and its association with the driver.

The image below shows the main screen from where the user can access the allocation features:

As shown in the image there are 5 features in the allocation module which are explained respectively:

  1. Drag and drop

  2. Reorganizer

  3. Cranes

  4. Instant Allocation

  5. Vehicle booking

Drag and drop

This is the initial system developed to allocate jobs. Once the flow as mentioned in figure 74 is completed the user can drag the job from right side column and allocate it to the driver details in left side column as shown in the image below. It’s an old version and no longer in frequent use. The reorganizer feature which is explained further is used more often.

Reorganizer

The concept is same as drag and drop; however, the functionality is enhanced for user experience. In this feature the user can access the search filters and find a driver, once the driver is found the user can drag from the list of unassigned job and assign it to the driver. At the bottom of this page, the user can purview the legend for the webpage identifying the meaning of colors used across. The Legends are explained in the glossary section. The page is shown below:

Crane

The cranes are used for crane jobs. The cranes feature in the module of allocation is for allocating crane jobs. The process of crane jobs is mentioned in the module 1 add new crane jobs. At the bottom of this page, the user can purview the legend for the webpage identifying the meaning of colors used across. The process of allocating a crane to a driver and crew is shown below:

Once the crane is selected the user will be required to add and select crew members. The list of roles for crew members is available in a drop down menu on the right hand side.

Once the crane and crew members are selected the process is completed and the crane can be assigned to a job.

Instant Allocation

Instant allocation screen allows a user to view projects. It is important to note here that the location functionality that is in the system level module should have the same address that of the supplier. In order to view projects in the instant allocation screen the project needs to be created and assigned to a truck with a base location. The user than will be able to view the project details in the screen shown below:

Vehicle Booking

This feature allows the user to book a vehicle for performing a task. The vehicles will be booked using the vehicle request form from the vehicle booking dashboard as shown in figure 84. Once the form is filled (figure 85) the vehicle will be booked, and the listing of the booked vehicles can be views from the view request as shown in figure 86.
